Global manufacturing joint venture, which functions under several companies, had a recurrent financial issue (per month) that involved manually producing operational expenditure (OPEX) budget and capital expenditure (CAPM) budgets on a per-entity basis. The process was labor-intensive, error-prone, and slow–relying on manual data extraction from spreadsheets, disconnected tools, and ad hoc workflows. With no unified architecture, generating reliable budgets required significant operational overhead, and insights arrived too late to influence decisions.
Royal Cyber collaborated with global manufacturing joint venture to implement a contemporary analytics solution, which was built on the Microsoft Fabric. We adopted a Medallion Lakehouse architecture, which provides automatic ingestion of data in Excel sheets of SharePoint into automation, data processing using PySpark notebooks, and display of real-time Opex and Capex dashboards in Power BI.
The outcome: the creation of manuals in the budget was removed, the accuracy of data was checked by schema validation, and the base that could allow further integration with AI was created.
