Automation Anywhere

About the Client

The client is a US-based NAHR-accredited healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) company that provides various services to help healthcare providers improve their AR management and invoice collections. Since 1999, with 100+ employees, the client has provided help to healthcare providers of all sizes to improve their cash flow and reduce their risk of bad debt.

Business Challenges

The client used a manual inter-system information transfer method wherein the human operators would log in to web applications to search for claim records, re-enter an internal back-office system, and then copy and paste thousands of records daily from one system to another.
Multiple resources were made to carry out several repetitive tasks, undermining their potential to focus on more creative and strategic tasks.
Due to the nature of the work, which was repetitive and mundane, there was high dissatisfaction among the employees.

Business Solution

With the help of the RPA platform Automation Anywhere, the team was able to train and deploy specialized bots that could feed on a queue of medical claims.
The team created a set of bots assigned to take one claim at a time to write records into files that the back-office system loaded as an import.
The bots could submit the claims electronically with the help of Availity EDI tools which allowed for faster transmission.
By connecting the bots to the centralized platform provided by Network Medical Management, claims data could be accessed and processed more quickly across multiple stakeholders in the healthcare system.
