About the Client

The client is an Australia-based brand of small home appliances, established in Sydney in the year 1932. It is famous for its home appliances, blenders, coffee machines, toasters, kettles, microwaves, and ovens. In 2016, the brand launched “Creatista” coffee machines for Nespresso and distributed other Nespresso products in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and Canada, including the Inissia, Vertuo, and Citiz series of machines.

The client wanted to replace the existing customer subscription model with a SaaS-based subscription model to automate high-volume billing processes, manage subscription services, and boost revenue.

Business Challenges

Customers were not able to manage subscriptions from the account page and save a product price based on their subscription plan.
No support for subscription price and recurring order management.
Needed a solution to support one row per channel and region combination.

Business Solution

Offered a solution to capture subscription-level prices for one region as a different product type in commercetools.
Displayed subscription prices in the storefront allowing customers to change frequency levels during checkout.
Performed customization on the order type level to capture subscription details and send them to downstream systems when a customer places an order.
Pushed order details to Dynamo DB table to create customer’s recurring subscription order.
