According to 2.3.4 Release Notes published on the Adobe website, the new release has more than 220 functional fixes to the main product and more than 30 security enhancements.   • Security enhancements to help close cross-site scripting (XSS) and Remote Code Execution (RCE) vulnerabilities.

  • For security purpose, Magento has conducted some fixes to core code, which include the removal of custom layouts update so that remote code execution can be removed

  • Magento 2.3.4 has enhanced messaging queue framework with RabbitMQ v3.8, which is a third-party technology
  • Magento 2.3.4 has improved page caching and session storage and has had it tested it on the stable release of Redis v5.0.6.
  • Magento has enhanced the support to use declarative schema with both MariaDB 10.2 and MySQL

  • For better support parsing, PHTML files have been refactored

  • With 250 enhancements for core quality, Magento has improved the framework of Catalog, Sales, PayPal, Elasticsearch, import, and CMS.

  • Magento has introduced a new bundle of Adobe stock image galleries. With this integrated extension, merchants can add high-quality media assets to their website content without leaving the Magento Admin
  • Merchants can explore, preview, license and deploy stock images in the website using the searchable interface in the Magento Media gallery

Improvements in Inventory Management

  • Magento has addressed a known issue involving shopping cart which caused a higher-than-usual expected load on the database server
  • To reduce the memory usage, Magento has updated the Inventory Reservations CLI commands
  • Quality issues related to credit memos, grouped products, source, and stock mass actions have been resolved

Refined GraphQL

  • Magento with this release have refined search, layered navigation, cart functionality for GraphQL coverage
  • With mergeCarts, Magneto can transfer the items from a guest cart into the cart of the logged in customer
  • A logged in customer can start an order on one device and complete it on another by using customerCart
  • Categories can be searched by using ID, name, and/or URL key
  • The cart object has been enhanced to include promotions and apply discounts at the line and cart levels
