IBM WebSphere Commerce (WCS) is now HCL Commerce

When the acquisition plans were announced in December 2018, it was unexpected news, and the long silence that followed resulted in a lot of speculations about the future of the Product. Being a premium partner of HCL, we can assure you and echo the promise of HCL that ‘business will be as usual.’ With no pattern to predict, as to what the HCL road map for Commerce could be, things seemed a little astray for all. However, now we have information about what will drive the HCL Commerce ahead.

We bring to you verified information from HCL about its future plans for HCL Commerce. HCL Commerce is sure to adhere to the rising demands of the e-commerce industry and the soaring expectation. HCL has come up with a very specific and precisely planned roadmap for Commerce aiming to put out any ambiguity regarding the future of Commerce post-acquisition.

With all the other versions reaching ‘end of life’ and only V9 alive from April 2020, HCL will invest all of its interest to better the customer experience by addressing the predominant issues.

HCL Plan for Commerce

Accelerating Commerce and assuring the clients are ahead of the competition would be HCL’s main interest, which will be achieved through continuous, tireless, and result-oriented efforts. With high responsiveness and zero tolerance for error, HCL Commerce is targeting to reach new heights within a one-year period.

Addressing the ardent need of the hour HCL would primarily concentrate on:

Better Consumability with Intelligent Search:

HCL understands the necessity to provide improved, quicker, precise, and reliable search results and its positive impact on better customer experience and improved consumability. So Intelligent search results will be among the main provisions HCL will aim to develop and invest in, helping the customers meet the emerging market trends.

Modernization with Improved UI/UX:

With the objective of enhanced customer experience, HCL will redesign UI/UX with a prime focus on improved accuracy and usability. By delivering a modernized and simplified UI/UX, the need for an updated infrastructure will be addressed. Embedded analysis, improved pricing, and promotion resources will add value to the merchant and ensures a better customer journey.

Currency with Ecosystem Expansion:

Multi-cloud readiness, innovative storefront model, and improved B2B, as well as B2C support expansion, will be part of the development plan. Agile and cost-effective multiple cloud supports have been a crucial requirement and achieving this is expected to improve customer acceptance.

This not only gives an insight into the future of HCL Commerce but also assures its clients a superior and overwhelming product experience.
